The current form of GIANTX

GIANTX will be an outsider in this match.

GIANTX is a newcomer to the LEC league. The club, which has taken over Excel Esports’ berth, debuted in the LEC 2024 Winter Split. It should be noted that GIANTX originated from the merger of Excel Esports, a British organization, and Giants, a Spanish organization. GIANTX had quite a challenging last season. The Europeans didn’t do well at LEC Winter 2023; they placed in the top 10. Nothing new was seen in their play in the spring split either: they finished last.

Following two terrible splits, GIANTX swapped out Raphaël “Targamas” Crabbé for Korean Lee “Peach” Min-gyu as their forester. The magical run at LEC Summer 2023 can’t be explained in any other manner but by this change. While they fell to G2 Esports in the LEC Finals, finishing in the top 3 and qualifying for the split Grand Final wasn’t disheartening to GIANTX.

Ex-Excel Esports finished in the top five at the LEC Finals 2024. They just about made it to the LEC Winter 2024 Playoffs. Only in the final Regular Season game versus Rogue did they succeed in doing so.

GIANTX have a 1-2 record at the end of the first week of LEC Spring 2024, good for sixth position in the rankings.

The current form of Fnatic

In this match, Fnatic will play as the obvious favorite.

Fnatic made an appearance at LEC Winter 2023 to kick off their ascent to the LEC Regional Finals the previous season. It wasn’t a good one though, as the “Orange” failed to advance past beyond the group stage and placed ninth overall.

The next season, Fnatic gave Carl Martin Erik “Rekkles” Larsson one last opportunity, but it didn’t work out as they finished the spring split in the top 8.

The two awful splits that led to much better re-splits. “Advienne” and “Rekkles” departed the team. Korean “Noah” and seasoned support “Trymbi” took their spots on the roster. The positive outcome arrived quickly. Compared to the two previous splits, FNC looked substantially superior at the LEC summer split. The group stage “exam” was successfully passed by the team, and they advanced to the regional finals by placing in the top 3. Through the Lower Bracket, the UK-German organization reached the tournament decider with G2 Esports but lost 1-3.

At Worlds 2023, the “Orange” played to the best of their abilities but failed to go beyond the Group Stage in which they had two wins and three defeats. Fnatic had a pretty good start to the regular season of LEC Winter 2024 (5-4), but it got worse from there. In the end, Fnatic earned a passage to the top 4 and stopped there. FNC competed against teams lower in the class thus far at LEC Spring 2024, so they went 2-1 in the opening week to take second position in the standings.
