B-Girl 671 vs. B-Girl Nicka Prediction on August 9, 2024

Match info

The first-ever Olympic breaking event will debut at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games. Also known by another name, breakdancing, it originated in the Bronx, NY, during the late 1970s and is the first dance sport to be included in the Olympics.

There will be 16 competitors in each of the two breaking competitions—for men and women. Their routines (creativity, musicality, technique, etc.) in head-to-head best-of-three dance battles will be scored by a panel of judges, and the competitors with the highest points advance to the medal round, where the winner is determined. The women’s finals (known as the B-Girls finals; each competitor goes by this moniker in addition to a stage name; “b-girl” or “break-girl” come from the name “breaker” – all the original terms used to describe the breakdancers) are scheduled for Friday, August 9, at 9:14 p.m. local time. The breaking competitions will take place at the Place de la Concorde, one of the major public squares in Paris.

Meeting statistics

In a matter of a couple of years, Liu Qingyi—better known by her stage name, B-Girl 67—has risen to the top of the breaking realm. Her transformation from unknown to a strong favorite to win gold in the Paris Games is rather amazing. Liu’s gold medal at the 2023 Asian Games earned her a spot in these Olympics. At the 2022 WDSF World Breaking Championship, she took home the silver medal after losing by a hair to B-Girl Ami (Ami Yussa), another strong favorite to take the gold in Paris. Liu, the leading female breaker in China, acknowledges that Japanese duo B-Girl Ami and B-Girl Ayumi (Ayumi Fukushima), who have won three World Championships between them, are her main competitors in Paris. Will one of these three take home the gold in breaking in Paris, or will a different challenger be able to surpass the formidable Asian breakdancers?

Dominika Banevič, a.k.a. B-Girl Nicka, who won the World and European Championships last year, danced her way to the top of the breaking world at the age of barely 17. At the Red Bull BC One 2023, the Lithuanian teen was defeated by B-Girl 671, but she still has a good chance of winning gold in Paris. Even at such a young age, she’s among the greatest because of her all-around skill set and strong technical background. With B-Girl Nicka around, breaking has a bright future ahead of it, gold or not in Paris.

Match analytics

The women’s division is more open, in contrast to the men’s tournament, which has fewer strong competitors for the gold medal. At least five competitors are serious about winning the gold in the women’s event, and podium threats make up as much as half of the 16-woman field. Because we’ll be witnessing cultural, artistic, and athletic magnificence beyond anything we’ve ever seen in the Olympic Games, this ground-breaking competition is a must-watch event.

We believe that Ami, Nicka, or 671 will emerge victorious. To be honest, you could win your bet by selecting any one of those three B-Girls. Even though we like watching the Japanese duo Ami and Ayumi, we believe Nicka will win the Olympic gold. Nothing about this B-Girl’s breaking is flawed. Her assertiveness and swagger on stage make us think she takes home the gold in Paris.

B-Girl Nicka’s win is valued at 29/10 at Boylesports.
