IMG Arena and Its Portfolio of International Sports Betting Rights Acquired by Sports Tech Giant Sportradar
In total, Endeavor, an American holding firm for media and talent agencies, will pay Sportradar US$225 million to sell its sports data and betting division, which is represented by IMG Arena.
The IMG Arena betting and sports data business will be acquired from Endeavor by Sportradar, a Swiss-based global sports technology company that gathers and analyzes sports data for bookies, national and international sports federations, and media businesses. In order to get into possession of London-headquartered IMG Arena and its portfolio, Sportradar will receive US$125 million from Endeavor, an American holding company for media and talent agencies. Along with paying out US$100 million to certain sports rights holders, the agency giant will split a total of US$225 million. This way, Endeavor offloaded its latest asset before being taken private by equity firm Silver Lake. OpenBet, which Endeavor purchased for $800 million in 2022, isn’t included in the Sportradar acquisition.
Sportradar Will Now Enhance Its Content and Product Offering
About 39,000 official data events and 30,000 streaming events from 14 sports are included in IMG Arena’s worldwide betting rights portfolio. IMG Arena is a platform that provides digital content. The PGA Tour, Major League Soccer (MLS), Euroleague Basketball, and three of tennis’ four Grand Slams are among the more than 70 rights holders that make up its “roster”—all sports events that are fan favorites for betting on popular online betting sites.
According to Sportradar, the acquisition will improve its product and content offerings, especially for well-liked sports like basketball, soccer, and tennis that are bet on. The transaction is still pending regulatory clearances and is anticipated to be finalized in the fourth quarter of 2025.
The company’s fiscal 2024 revenue reached €1.11 billion, a 26% year-over-year (YoY) growth.
