Pros and Cons of the VALORANT Masters Bangkok 2025’s Format Changes
The VCT has made changes to its Champions Points system in advance of the 2025 season. Points will be given out more regularly thanks to this upgrade. This follows complaints over teams receiving zero points at international competitions unless they were the overall winners during the 2024 season. The teams that are among the top four Kickoff teams in 2025 will receive Championship Points. Teams will be able to get points more equitably thanks to this updated points system.
The season starts early now, which shortens the off season and extends the competitive season.
Non-partner VCT teams were formerly assigned a two-year contract. They’ll instead receive a one-year contract in 2025, though. Depending on how well the squad does, there’s also a chance that the contracts will be extended. The number of teams that can compete in each region has also been updated. Only two non-partnered teams are allowed to compete in each region because Riot Games has set a limitation of 12 teams per region.
Newcomers to the VCT are APEKS (EMEA), Boom Esports and Nongshim RedForce (Pacific), XLG Esports (CN), and 2GAME Esports (Americas).
