The RLCS 2025 World Championship is, actually, the culminating event of the RLCS—the premier competitive circuit for the 2015 vehicular soccer video game, Rocket League.

Starting in 2024, the RLCS is organized by a Danish company specializing in eSports entertainment and producing and managing high-profile eSports tournaments, BLAST, while Psyonix (the game’s developer, under Epic Games) continues to endorse it. BLAST took over operational management from Psyonix beginning that season.

Four additional teams earned or will earn their places via Last Chance Qualifiers (LCQs), a new feature in 2025. Those regions selected for LCQs are the top 4 performing in average LAN results during the year. Each region’s LCQ awarded one World Championship berth. Known LCQ winners so far include:

  • ROC Esports from MENA, who secured their spot in mid-July
  • Corinthians Esports from South America clinched qualification in late July

The North America and Europe LCQs are pending final results; thus, 2 further teams will complete the 20-team field.

Features of the RLCS 2025 World Championship

Based on the official format announcement, the RLCS 2025 World Championship is divided into 3 phases (exact calendar dates haven’t yet been finalized):

  • Structure: One 8-team GSL bracket.
  • Match format: All matches are Bestof5.
  • Dates: Held early in the event week (prior to the public Crowd Days).

Group Stage

  • Participants: 16 teams—the 4 Play-In winners join the 12 automatically qualified teams.
  • Structure: 2 GSL (group of 8) brackets with 4team groups each. The top 4 from each group advance to the Playoffs.
  • Match format: All group matches are Bestof5.
  • Dates: Occur mid-week, prior to the weekend Crowd Days.

Playoffs (Final Bracket)

  • Participants: 8 teams.
  • Structure: Hybrid elimination bracket (AFL FinalEight format). The top 4 seeds from groups start in the Upper Bracket (double-elimination buffer). Seeds 5–8 begin in the Lower Bracket (single elimination).
  • Match format: All matches are Bestof7, from Quarterfinals through to Grand Final.
  • Dates: Crowd Days (September 12–14).

Who’ll Win the RLCS 2025 World Championship?

Based on recent LAN performance, regional dominance, roster consistency, and community expectations, we can single out a couple of the top favorites for the RLCS 2025 World Championship. Karmine Corp are favored the most by us: the reigning Birmingham Major champions have had a dominant LAN showing all season. The other one is Team Falcons. One of the most feared non-NA/EU teams with consistent international results, being MENA’s first RLCS LAN winner; they won the 2025 Raleigh Major.

If you’re considering betting on the RLCS 2025 World Championship, the best eSports bookmakers (GG.BET, Betway, Thunderpick, Cloudbet, SportBet, BetOnline, and SBOBET) list Rocket League on their sites, including RLCS tournaments, offering markets like match winner, outright champion, map winner, and special props:

Team BDS have the most World Championship titles (2), won in 2022 and 2024. The tournament is showing steady year-on-year growth, reaching 426,833 in a semifinal match between Karmine Corp and G2 Stride.
