The LTA is the new name for the professional League of Legends (LoL) league/series in the Americas region, replacing the LCS, CBLOL, and LLA starting in 2025. Earlier, the LCS Finals posed as the season finale, but now the LCS became LTA’s North Conference under the name LTA North, while ex-CBLOL became LTA South (conference).
The LTA 2025 Championship takes place in the second half of September, marking the conclusion of Split 3 and the LTA season. It’s determining qualification for the World Championship (the Worlds) and brings together the crème de la crème from both the North and South Conferences. The tournament is organized by LoL’s developer, Riot Games, as it operates the LTA.

Which Teams Will Take Part in the LTA 2025 Championship?
As said, 6 teams will compete in the 2025 LTA Championship—the top 3 from each conference. While the exact teams are yet to be finalized (TBD), these will emerge based on performance in Split 3. The qualification process works as follows: After Split 3, the top 3 teams from each conference qualify for the LTA Championship. These teams earn their spot based on their standings in the Split 3 knockouts—most likely through a mix of the Pick & Play stage and Elimination rounds, as outlined in the LTA season format.

Features of the LTA 2025 Championship
The LTA 2025 Championship features a single stage: a combined Double elimination bracket involving all participating teams: LB Quarterfinals, LB Semifinals, UB Final, LB Final, and Grand Final. All matches are Best-of-5 (Bo5).
The top 3 teams qualify for the Worlds, the most glorious event in every LoL season’s calendar.
Who’ll Win the LTA 2025 Championship?
While specific betting odds for the Championship aren’t widely published yet, insights from Split 2 suggest the following frontrunners in their respective conferences:
- North Conference: 100 Thieves stood out as one of the top favorites, backed by experienced players.
- South Conference: paiN Gaming showed dominance, finishing Weeks 4–6 of Split 2 undefeated, marking them as strong contenders.
- These are likely to be among the favorites heading into the Championship, along with consistent performers like FlyQuest and FURIA.
Betting platforms focused on esport betting—such as Thunderpick—offer markets for LTA events, including outright winners and match betting (pre-match and live). Major mainstream sportsbooks covering eSports (e.g., Bet365, though primarily a guide) may also offer odds, especially for high-profile matches or series.
Even though the 2025 LTA season is inaugural, we can look at prior splits for insights:
- Viewership growth: LTA North Split 1 averaged around 88,900 viewers, with a peak of 148,600. In Split 2, hours watched jumped significantly: +249% for the North and +143.5% for the South, reaching 12.69 million total hours.
- Standout teams: Split 1: Team Liquid won the Cross-Conference event; 100 Thieves were champions of the North Conference. Split 2: North’s final was won by FlyQuest; South’s saw FURIA taking the crown.
All LTA games are streamed live in multiple languages and on major platforms. Twitch and YouTube are the primary platforms. As for broadcast languages, streams are available in English, Spanish, and Brazilian Portuguese, serving North America, Hispanic Latin America, and Brazil, respectively.
Pros and Cons of the Newly-Formed LTA Series
PROS | CONS |
Unified competition across North and South America brings the best teams from both regions into 1 league, raising the competitive standard. | Increased travel demands for teams and players, leading to fatigue and logistical challenges. |
More varied matchups: fans get to see inter-regional rivalries regularly, not just at international events. | Loss of regional identity: traditional LCS (North America) and CBLOL (Brazil) branding and history are gone. |
Higher viewership potential: combines audiences from NA, LATAM, and Brazil, leading to bigger streaming numbers. | Time zone challenges: scheduling matches across multiple time zones can inconvenience both players and fans. |
More intense Worlds qualification: a truly competitive Americas Regional Championship determines the best teams to send. | Risk of regional imbalance: stronger regions could dominate, leaving little room for underdog stories. |
Cross-cultural appeal: increased exposure to different playstyles, languages, and fan cultures. | Language barriers: although multilingual streams exist, communication between regions may be harder for players and staff. |
Potential for higher sponsorship value: a bigger, united league can attract more international brands. | Possible dilution of smaller leagues: local ecosystems may struggle if focus shifts too heavily to the LTA. |
