Features of the DreamLeague Season 27
The main tournament will feature two stages:
- Group Stage: 24 teams participate in a Swiss-system format. All matches in the Swiss group stage are Best-of-3 (Bo3).
- Playoffs: After the Swiss stage, a double-elimination bracket is used: upper bracket and lower bracket. All playoff matches (except the grand final) are Bo3.
Who’ll Win the DreamLeague Season 27?
Some of the top favourites for DreamLeague Season 27 include teams from the invited teams list, i.e., tier-1 organisations with proven international results. The format (Swiss into double-elim) rewards consistency, depth of strategy, and playoff adaptability — traits these teams have shown. Because the event is online with European servers, remote-play experience and minimal travel disruption favour teams used to such formats. These teams are Liquid, Spirit, and Tundra – bigger favorites than the other.
When it comes to Dota 2 tournaments, strong value often comes from prop markets (e.g., “first Roshan”, “total kills”) because they’re less efficient and less heavily bet, and from live markets where movement happens. Top websites with Dota 2 betting offerings are some of the better sportsbooks and eSports bookmakers. i.e., eSports dedicated sites: Bet365, GG.BET, Pinnacle, Thunderpick, and Bovada.
DreamLeague has changed formats several times as the Dota 2 pro circuit changed: It started as an in-studio league toward LAN finals at DreamHack, moved to become official Valve Majors, and now shifted to an online league with global invites and EPT Point seeding toward Riyadh Masters. DreamLeague has been dominated by Team Secret: five titles.
In terms of viewership, DreamLeague has grown significantly due to the ESL Pro Tour integration and connection to Riyadh Masters; for example, S19 (2023) had ~300K peak.
DreamLeague Season 27 is streamed exclusively online through ESL’s official broadcast channels.

Pros and Cons of the DreamLeague Season 27 Favorites
| Team | Pros | Cons |
| Team Liquid | Extremely consistent across long league formats Strong laning and macro game Deep hero pools allow flexible drafts Well-structured coaching and analysis staff | Difficulty converting finals into titles Can be too “standard” when meta rewards chaos Performance sometimes drops in playoff elimination matches |
| Team Spirit | One of the best high-pressure/clutch teams Elite teamfight coordination (Collapse + Mira synergy) Capable of switching tempo mid-series Once they gain momentum, very hard to stop | Often start tournaments slowly Can be draft-stubborn when the initial read is wrong Reliant on mid-game timing — can be stalled out by split-push or map-spread styles |
| Tundra Esports | Exceptional macro and map manipulation Highly creative and unpredictable drafts Thrives in online and long-series strategic formats Excellent endurance in Bo3 and Bo5 brackets | Slow early game can be punished by fast-tempo teams Harder to recover if lanes go badly Over-adjusts between series at times, losing consistency |
