As is clear from the event’s name, this will be the 25th edition of Dota 2’s DreamLeague. It’s part of the two series. First off, Dota 2: DreamLeague Season 25 takes place as part of the third season of an ESL Pro Tour (also called EPT), which consists of the DreamLeague seasons (the second series of which the tournament is a part), where top teams in the world for Valve’s action-RTS and MOBA-type game compete exclusively online. Teams use the EPT ranking system to get into each DreamLeague. The top eight DreamLeague teams at the end of the season will advance to the Riyadh Masters in the summer. DreamLeague was only incorporated into the EPT in 2023, starting with Season 19.

The Dota 2: DreamLeague Season 25 is organized by ESL Gaming. Since its founding 25 years ago, the organization formerly known as an Electronic Sports League (ESL) has expanded to become the biggest eSports entity.

Where and When Will the Dota 2: DreamLeague Season 25 Be Held?

The Dota 2: DreamLeague Season 25 runs from February 16, 2025, to March 2, 2025. Twelve teams from the regional qualifiers and four from the EPT Leaderboard have advanced to the tournament, for a total of 16 teams.

The winners will take home the majority of the prize money and EPT Points (20,860 EPT Points are up for grabs) in an attempt to earn enough points to get an invitation to the Riyadh Masters 2025.

All the participating teams will compete virtually from their bootcamps, and the tournament will be produced by EFG’s production studios in Sweden. EFG is short for ESL FACEIT Group, the entity formed by the merger of ESL Gaming and the eSports gaming platform FACEIT.

The highly appreciated Dota 2 tournament, such as any edition of the DreamLeague, has an appealing US$1,000,000 prize fund. The winning team will get US$300,000 (4,200 base points: 420 Group Stage 1, 420 Group Stage 2), the vice-champions will get US$175,000 (3,500 base points; 210 Group Stage 1), the third-placed side will get US$120,000 (2,800 base points; 105 Group Stage 1), while the team that ends fourth will earn US$75,000 (2,240 base points).

Four teams—PARIVISION, BetBoom Team, Team Falcons, and Team Liquid—which were directly invited to the tournament because of their strong standing in the ESL Pro Tour rankings will compete for the tournament’s top prize as the biggest favorites.

With a resounding victory in the Eastern Europe qualifiers, Team Spirit solidified their position as the favorites there and “dark horse” in the Dota 2: DreamLeague Season 25. AVULUS defeated more seasoned opponents to win the Western Europe qualifiers and maintained their stellar form and unexpectedly high ranking in the EPT Leaderboard.
