The World Curling, which used to be named the World Curling Federation (WCF), the global regulatory body for curling accreditation headquartered in Scotland, is organizing the 2025 World Men’s Curling Championship. It will take place in Moose Jaw, Canada, over almost 10 days from the end of March to the first days of April.

Where and When Will the 2025 World Men’s Curling Championship Be Held?

Thirteen teams will compete in the 2025 World Men’s Curling Championship from the very first day, which is March 29; April 6 is when the event will end. Mosaic Place in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, Canada—a multipurpose arena well-known for hosting curling and ice hockey competitions—will host the 2025 World Men’s Curling Championship.

Unlike commercial tournaments, such as the Grand Slam of Curling, there’s no official prize pool for the World Curling Championships. Here, players compete for prestige and entry into the history books of curling.

Which Teams Will Take Part in the 2025 World Men’s Curling Championship?

Four teams that advanced from the Pan Continental Curling Championship 2024 for men (it qualifies teams from the America and Pacific-Asia zones) and eight coming from the Le Gruyère AOP European Curling Championship 2024 for men, plus the host nation, will compete in the 2025 World Men’s Curling Championship. The event in Moose Jaw is the last event to allocate the Olympic Qualification Points for the men’s curling competition at the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milano and Cortina d’Ampezzo

Features of the 2025 World Men’s Curling Championship

The 2025 World Men’s Curling Championship follows a Round-robin structure with 20 Draws (a draw in curling is a shot where the goal is for the rock thrown to stay in play). Each Draw has four Sheets (A, B, C, and D), and players from each of the 13 teams will play against each other over 10 Ends (when all eight rocks—a total of 16—from each team have been delivered, an end is complete. The time frame for this phase is March 29–April 4.

The Playoffs, which begin on April 4, will see the top six teams from the Round-robin. The top two teams will be given a bye in the first round, while the other four will compete in the Qualifying rounds to move on to the Semifinals.

Who’ll Win the  2025 World Men’s Curling Championship?

Considering the World Men’s Curling Championship from last year, Sweden’s outstanding team play helped them secure the title with a thrilling victory over Canada in the competition’s final. In the meantime, the typical powerhouses in men’s curling on the world level occupied the remaining standings. Apart from Sweden and Canada, Scotland has the biggest chance of winning the title. After them come Italy and Germany, but way behind, even though Italy took the bronze in 2024. There are not many curling betting sites where you can place your outright wagers, but check out the sites of the top 10 betting companies from our list, and you’ll see that they have curling markets.

The year 2018 saw the introduction of the current structure and number of participating teams. Following the separation of the men’s and women’s championships in 2005, the WCF and Curling Canada (the Canadian Curling Association) agreed that this country would host one of the events each year. For this reason, the 2025 World Men’s Curling Championship will take place in Moose Jaw for the third time and in Saskatchewan for the fourth.

Just like it was the case with the LGT World Men’s Curling Championship 2024, all games from this year’s World Men’s Curling Championship will likely be available to watch on the World Curling’s Curling Channel, but you’ll have to pay for the Pass, either the Event, Day, or Game Pass, and not to be on the list of geo-blocked countries.
