MAD Lions vs. Fnatic Prediction on September 9, 2023

Match info

Pro League of Legends’ summer season is coming to a conclusion. The League of Legends EMEA Championship (LEC) Finals champion and the ultimate Worlds 2023 competitor’s names are still to be determined. We’ll focus on the first one now. At this very moment, Fnatic, MAD Lions, and one more team are vying for the title of overall LoL European champion in 2023.

The lower bracket final between MAD Lions and Fnatic is on the schedule this Saturday, September 9, at 6 p.m. local time at Sud de France Arena in Montpellier, France.

Meeting statistics

To proceed to the tournament’s grand finale, where G2 Esports are already waiting for their rival, the above-mentioned two teams will vie. The game, which will be played in a best-of-five format, could be exciting.

Find out who’ll prevail in this battle and be able to compete against G2 Esports for the championship, and who’ll have to bid LEC Finals 2023 farewell at the top-3 stage.

The current form of MAD Lions

The MAD Lions form is where the match analysis begins. Although the odds suggest they aren’t too big of the favorites, LoL betting sites (most of them, not all) are confident in their success. Actually, this is a contest between two evenly-matched teams. There are therefore increased chances that we’ll see a close-up and attractive League of Legends as the match draws near.

With a small adjustment for the previous unsuccessful season, MAD Lions have been a consistent victor of the LEC splits since 2021. We want to draw special emphasis on the Spanish team’s performance in 2023, when it finished second at LEC Winter 2023 and first at LEC Spring 2023.. MAD Lions appeared to fail miserably in the LEC Spring split. They narrowly qualified for the group stage. There, through fight, sweat, and blood, they advanced to the playoffs where they overcame G2 Esports in the opening round of a challenging Bo5. Their struggle was yet to start; they still had to defeat Vitality (3-1) and go to the championship match against BDS drawing a reverse sweep.

There’s no denying that the MAD Lions’ roster is competitive. They’ve repeatedly demonstrated this in practice, although it’s not always followed by excellent performance, first and foremost on the world stage, but occasionally also in their region. For instance, MSI 2023 and the top 8 there are good in theory, but the outcome at LEC Summer 2023 is already depressing. As the reigning Spring split champions, MAD Lions crashed out at the Top 7 spot at the most recent LEC Championships, which is obviously not on their par.

MAD Lions’ match against Excel marked the opening of the 2023 LEC Finals. The latter team was defeated by their fellow countrymen by a score of 0-3 and had no chance of jeopardizing the rival in the match. The following game pitted MAD Lions against G2. They clearly fell short, losing 1-3. Fiora, from the top, is the most successful MAD Lions champion (2 games, 100% wins).

The current form of Fnatic

The form of Fnatic is where we resume the match analysis. The “Orange“ is listed as the underdog by the sportsbooks, but they are being careful in the assessment. The odds, which are just marginally higher than those set for the MAD Lions’ victory, reflect this. Again, you can see how even the teams’ strengths are. However, MAD Lions are more attractive because they had a more steady year and appeared better in the LEC Finals 2023.

Fnatic’s participation in LEC Winter 2023 marked the beginning of their rise to the LEC Regional Finals. It wasn’t a good tournament for them, as the UK-based side placed ninth overall and failed to advance past the group round. The following year, Fnatic offered Carl Martin Erik “Rekkles“ Larsson one final opportunity on the roster. It didn’t bear fruit because Fnatic lost to MAD Lions in their opening game after making it out of the group stage, finishing the Spring split at the top 8.

Major re-splits followed two disastrous splits. Support Henk “Advienne“ Reijenga and already mentioned Rekkles (ADC) departed the squad. They were replaced by Adrian “Trymbi“ Trybus and Oh “Noah“ Hyeon-taek, a veteran Korean legionnaire. The results showed up quickly. Compared to the previous two LEC splits, Fnatic looked significantly better. The team succeeded in advancing past the group stage and reaching the top 3 in LEC Summer 2023, which gave them the opportunity to compete in the regional finals.

In the match to reach the Top 4, Fnatic faced Excel and prevailed 3-2 in a tough bo5. Fnatic then defeated BDS 3-2 in the match for the LEC Finals 2023 within the lower bracket following a fierce battle between the two teams.

Ryze, a center-line champion for Fnatic, has three games with a perfect winning percentage.

Head-to-head encounters

Fnatic had three victories over the MAD Lions in the last five encounters between the teams.

Match analytics

We continue to believe in MAD Lions despite their head-to-head history with Fnatic. They displayed the greatest game in LEC Finals 2023 thus far, and they received split titles throughout the season. On the other hand, Fnatic didn’t begin to display anything resembling a high-quality League of Legends until the summer.

A piece of advice for betting: Total maps over 4.5 at odds of 2.45 on Cyber.Bet.
