Then, in a match against Evil Geniuses, the Guardians prevailed 3-0. Then they shockingly defeated FlyQuest with a score of 3-2 in their subsequent match (for advancing to the MSI 2023). The championship game was next, where GG faced Cloud9. For the grand finale, not enough mana was obtained. With a 3-1, C9 confidently declared the game (and the LCS title) won.

The current form of GAM

Now let’s analyze the playing style practiced by VCS participants: GAM Esports. They’ll be playing the role of an outsider in this match, for which there’s an explanation. The team’s location in the map of the League of Legends professional landscape serves as the primary criticism leveled at GAM. Despite being the last and weakest of the major regions in the world, Vietnam is one of the developing eSports countries and is still not at the same level as North America. Everything is good with GAM if we discuss them only as a part of their region. The team has consistently placed in the TOP VCS since 2022, and 2023 was no exception. The team hardly made any substitutions during the start of the season. The addition of support to the roster was the sole change in the personnel. Returning to the performance of GAM within the VCS, once again it’s worth noting the dominant position of GAM in the Vietnamese scene. At first, they dominated in the group stage of VCS Spring 2023, where they finished with a score of 14-0. The playoffs of the tournament were much more difficult for them than the group stage, however, even there, GAM achieved success. First, they outplayed CERBERUS Esports with a score of 3-1 and then defeated SBTC Esports twice (3-2 in the upper bracket final and 3-1 in the VCS Spring 2023 grand final).
