Bilibili Gaming vs. Weibo Gaming Prediction on November 11, 2023

Match info

The League of Legends World Championship 2023 will begin a new phase, which will be inaugurated by the encounter between Bilibili Gaming and Weibo Gaming. Nothing less than a spot in the Grand Final is up for grabs in the Chinese derby, which takes place in the Knockout Stage Semifinals of the main LoL event of the autumn, also one of the most significant events in the careers of the players involved, and which is sure to be intense.

The match in question is on the schedule for Saturday, November 11, at 5 p.m. local time at Sajik Indoor Gymnasium in Busan, Korea.

Meeting statistics

We’ll analyze the forthcoming game to try and predict which team will be stronger and help the LPL have a representative in the Worlds final, and who’ll have to give up on the chance to be the first Chinese team to make it to the title match since 2021. So, let’s begin...

The current form of Bilibili Gaming

Bilibili Gaming, who’ll be playing nominal hosts in the next match, have a very good chance of winning it if you look at the odds of every League of Legends bookmaker.

BLG fought their way into the Mid-Season Invitational 2023 by finishing in the top 2 of the Chinese region last season. There was another notable result: they advanced to the championship game there but fell short against JD Gaming. A further benefit for Bilibili is the organization’s renewal of players for the Long Conference in 2023. The club put together a very good group.

Even after a successful six months, Bilibili Gaming hadn’t let up. In addition to setting a record locally – they were the first club in the series’ history to finish the Group Stage with just one loss. They were also the first to qualify for the LPL Summer 2023 playoffs. They played TES in the opening round of the Playoffs. The LPL Spring 2023 runners-up defeated rivals handily with a score of 3-1, dictating the game for the most part. Bilibili Gaming faced up against JD Gaming, their main competitor and the current LPL champion, in the Upper Bracket final. JD Gaming left their opponents with no hope of success, easily defeating them 3-0. In contrast to the Spring split, BLG’s performance in the Summer split was a little less assured. The Mid-Season Invitational 2023 saw vice-champions finish third in this split, falling short against LNG Esports in the match to move on to the Grand Final with a 1-3.

Bilibili Gaming’s first Worlds 2023 opponent was a very formidable one, KT Rolster. In a 45-minute match, Zeng “Yagao“ Qi and his teammates prevailed over one of the top 3-ranked teams in South Korea. JD Gaming was the next opponent, and there was no way to win. But BLG overcame Fnatic, therefore, they got the record in the Group Stage of 2-1. Things didn’t look good for the Chinese team as they raced into T1 in the next match, who prevailed and advanced to the Knockout Stage, while Bilibili Gaming was left with a 2-2 record. They defeated G2 Esports in their last Swiss Stage match to send the top team in Europe home.

In the Playoffs’ first round, Gen.G and Bilibili Gaming faced off. The Korean powerhouse leveled the score at 2-2 following an easy 2-0 for BLG, and the fifth map proved to be decisive. Finally, Gen.G were waived goodbye empty-handed after BLG, who had repeatedly caught Jeong “Chovy“ Ji-hoon on Akali, won the match.

BLG’s most successful character is Galio (2 matches, 2 wins) from the mid-lane.

The current form of Weibo Gaming

Moving on to the Weibo Gaming form as we carry on with the match analysis. They’ll play as Team 2 in this match, and they are clearly underdogs here. Weibo Gaming can be considered a rookie to the LPL, having made its debut in 2022 after previously making its eSports big-stage inauguration in 2021. They achieved excellent results for novices. They made the top 8 twice in 2022, finishing top 6 at LPL Spring 2022 and top 8 at LPL Summer 2022. At the last tournament played before LPL Summer 2023, the previous LPL Spring 2023 split, the Chinese side even finished in the top 6. Not surprising, given their roster.

WBG made a very confident entry into the championship playoffs. They finished sixth in the LPL Summer 2023 Group Stage with a score of 10-6. Ninjas in Pyjamas, who had an incredible run through the Group Stage and then shocked everyone by making it to the top 8, was Weibo’s first opponent in the Playoffs: Weibo prevailed 3-1. Next up for Weibo in the LPL Summer 2023 Knockout Stage was LNG Esports, who finished the regular season with a strong showing, in the top two, and coming close to defeating JD Gaming in the championship game. That being said, Weibo lost that match by a score of 2-3. Weibo began their participation in the regional finals from the Lower Bracket, where TES was their initial opponent. WBG were on the edge in this game but resolved it in their favor with a 3-2 victory. Weibo competed against EDward Gaming in the next round to earn a spot at Worlds 2023. They put up a great show and defeated their opponent 3-1 to secure their participation in the World Championship.

Weibo Gaming took against NRG in the Worlds 2023 opening match. The game finished just as it should have: the Chinese side easily won and the American top team was completely destroyed. The most interesting match of Worlds 2023 was perhaps Weibo vs. G2 Esports. In an incredible series, the latter won, sending Weibo to a 1-1 record. Then Weibo suffered yet one more setback. After they easily defeated the MAD Lions, having a 1-2 record prior to the game, they proceeded to play against Fnatic, another LEC member. The team from China overcame a one-card deficit to win the pivotal match on the Swiss Stage. WBG faced NRG in the first round of the playoffs. Only the first of the three played maps saw any resistance from the lone Western-world team, but it wasn’t nearly enough to give WBG any trouble.

Vi, from the forest, is the most successful champion for Weibo Gaming with six games and 100% wins.

Head-to-head encounters

Weibo and Bilibili have faced off only in the LPL thus far. Throughout the season, they encountered one another three times, and Bilibili won each time.

Match analytics

We anticipate a competitive effort from both teams in this game. Given that they have a better head-to-head record and defeated a more formidable opponent in the opening round, BLG have a clear advantage in this match. But what’s Worlds if an outsider doesn’t have the chance to defeat the favorite in the playoffs? We suggest that you take a chance and put your money into the full bo5 series.

In summary, Total maps – Over 4.5 at odds of 2.75 on Mystake is what our gut tells us.
