Meeting statistics
The current form of Astralis Astralis have been able to move up 11 ranks in the last several months, reaching sixth place in the HLTV rankings. The Danes performed admirably in IEM Cologne 2023, placing third to fourth. A team should feel confident going into tier-1 events after such a performance. Yes, Astralis did lose to 00NATION in Pinnacle Cup V, but it was hardly the most significant competition for the Danes. However, it was a good warning for the team given that 00NATION aren’t even in the top 80 HLTV. Astralis will almost probably choose Ancient for the following game because it’s their strongest map (77% victory rate for 13 cards). The Danes handily defeated their following opponent NiP on Ancient at the end of July, letting them win just six rounds on the map. We believe it’s the only logical selection for Astralis since it makes no sense to discard your finest card. Astralis have outperformed nearly all of the world’s top teams on Ancient during the previous month. Only one of the previous eight games saw the team lose on this map – to G2 Esports at IEM Cologne 2023, who went on to win the competition. On this map, it’s difficult to envision NiP being able to provide any opposition. Astralis won’t go for Nuke, that’s for sure (17% win rate on six cards). The current form of NiP Ninjas in Pyjamas, who are ranked 11th by HLTV (an improvement of seven places in the last three months), finished 13th–16th in the competition at IEM Cologne 2023. The squad from Sweden played poorly and failed to win a single game. After that, they were unable to advance to IEM Sydney 2023 as they fell to BetBoom Team by a score of 0-2. NiP will find it very challenging to control even one map in the game versus Astralis. The Swedes have been choosing Ancient and Mirage in previous matches. The first map is played better by the Danes, as we said, while the second one will unquestionably be banned. NiP themselves don’t appear well on any other maps except from Inferno (75% wins on four cards). They perform worst on Overpass (29% wins on seven cards). Calling NiP a favorite, at least on one of the maps, is quite tough. And, it’s reflected by looking at odds set by a CS: GO mobile betting app of any betting provider. Due to Astralis’ dismal win percentage, NiP could wish to take Nuke, but during the previous three months, the Swedes have been unable to outperform any competitive team on this map. Even when up against 1WIN and Complexity, the losses happened. The situation is the same with Inferno, where they perform at their finest. There are also no victories against difficult opponents on this map, despite the fact that NiP were able to take seven rounds there against MOUZ, which in all honesty isn’t that much. Even on one single map in the next clash, we find it impossible to accept that the Swedes would prevail. Head-to-head encounters Astralis lead 2-1 in head-to-heads. At IEM Cologne 2023 and BLAST Premier Spring Groups 2023, they beat NiP 2-0 and 2-1, respectively. The only win of “ninjas“ occurred at BLAST.tv Paris Major 2023 Europe RMR B this April: 2-0.
Match analytics
Astralis are now looking stronger than Ninjas in Pyjamas. Benjamin “blameF“ Bremer is in great shape and continues to drag his team up the rankings. He should be able to cope with NiP solo, with minimal support from teammates. Our prediction: Astralis to win with a Correct Map Score of 2-0 at odds of 2.00 on 18bet.
