Lindsey Vonn’s Olympic Comeback Ends in Crash
Lindsey Vonn’s return to competitive skiing at the Winter Olympics came to a brutal end after she crashed during the super-G event. The 40-year-old American, who came out of retirement with a titanium knee replacement, lost control mid-run and slid into the safety netting.

Vonn was visibly shaken as she got to her feet, and while she was able to ski down under her own power, the disappointment was clear. Medical staff assessed her at the bottom of the course, but there has been no official update yet on whether she sustained any injuries.
The crash marks a heartbreaking conclusion to her fairytale comeback. Vonn retired in 2019 due to chronic knee issues, but after undergoing partial knee replacement surgery, she decided to give it one more go. She had been training hard in the lead-up to the Games and was optimistic about her chances.
“I Knew the Risks”
Speaking before the event, Vonn admitted she knew the risks but said she wanted to prove to herself that she could still compete at the highest level. The super-G was always going to be a test, and unfortunately, it didn’t go her way.
There’s a tidal wave of support online for Lindsey, with many wanting to show that they’re thinking of her and praising her courage. Whether this represents the end of her career remains to be seen, but for now, she’s focusing on recovery.
